Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is used when you visit taxipuertoplata.com, request a price, book a transfer or contact Taxi Puerto Plata about your journey in the Dominican Republic.

Privacy contact: contact our team through the contact page or call +1 849 882 4513. Please mention “Privacy request” and provide a booking reference if your request concerns a reservation. Do not send a password, full payment-card number or medical records.

Information we handle

  • Contact and booking information: your name, email address, telephone number, pickup and destination addresses, travel dates and times, passenger and luggage counts, vehicle selection, extras and booking notes.
  • Travel coordination: flight or cruise details and instructions you provide so the team can arrange the pickup. Describe practical assistance requirements without including a diagnosis or unnecessary health information.
  • Order and payment records: booking reference, services purchased, price, payment status and transaction references. The payment provider selected at checkout processes the payment information required for that method under its own privacy notice. Do not send card details in booking notes or messages.
  • Support and account records: messages, reservation-change requests and account information when you use those features.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device details, pages requested, timestamps and identifiers used by website, security, booking and measurement services.

Most booking information comes from you. An agency or another traveler may provide it when arranging a journey on your behalf. If you book for someone else, give them this notice and share only the information needed for the reservation.

How information is used

We use journey and contact details to prepare a quote, process a reservation, arrange the selected vehicle, coordinate pickup, send booking updates and respond to questions or changes. Accurate pickup details and a working contact method are needed to provide the service.

Order and transaction records support payment reconciliation, accounting, dispute handling and applicable legal obligations. Technical records support website operation, troubleshooting and protection against misuse. Website measurement helps us understand visits and improve the booking experience.

Where a data-protection law requires a legal basis, the relevant basis depends on the use: arranging or performing your booking, complying with legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, or consent where required. Optional marketing communications require a separate choice where applicable; a booking request is not, by itself, permission for unrelated marketing.

Who may receive information

Reservation details may be shared with the driver, dispatch team or transport supplier responsible for your journey. They need the pickup, contact and service information relevant to carrying out that booking.

The website also relies on hosting, booking, payment, communication, security and measurement providers. Its current setup includes Hostinger hosting, WordPress and WooCommerce booking/order tools, and Google services described below. These tools and their service providers do not all receive the same information. A payment provider, for example, receives information needed to process the payment method you choose.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law or needed to address a dispute or protect legal rights. External providers may process information outside the Dominican Republic. Their processing locations and practices depend on the service; contact us for information about a particular provider involved in your booking.

Cookies, analytics, maps and external links

Cookies and similar technologies support functions such as the booking session, cart, account access and website security. Blocking all cookies in your browser may prevent parts of checkout or account access from working.

The website uses Google Analytics through Google Site Kit and Google Tag Manager. Analytics can receive technical and usage information about visits. Tag Manager manages website tags; the information collected depends on the tags deployed. Google Maps supports address search and route display and receives information needed to provide those features.

You can review Google’s Privacy Policy and manage cookies through your browser settings. Where a cookie-preference control is offered, use it to review or change optional choices. This notice does not mean that optional tracking has been disabled in your browser.

If you choose a WhatsApp link, you continue to a service operated by WhatsApp/Meta. Information you send there is handled through that service as well as by the team answering your message. Other external websites and payment services have their own privacy notices.

How long information is kept

Retention depends on the purpose and type of record. Relevant factors include completing the journey, handling support or a dispute, applicable accounting and legal requirements, and the retention settings of the service involved. An inquiry, a completed booking and a security log may therefore have different retention periods.

You may ask about the records associated with your booking and the applicable retention criteria. Some records may need to be retained even after a deletion request because of an unresolved transaction, dispute or legal requirement.

Your choices and privacy requests

Contact the team to request access to your information or correction of inaccurate details. Depending on applicable law and your circumstances, you may also have rights to deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. Withdrawing consent does not invalidate processing already carried out lawfully.

We may need proportionate information to verify that a request relates to your records. Start with the contact details used for the booking and its reference; do not send identity documents unless a specific, necessary verification step has been explained. You may also raise a concern with the competent data-protection authority where applicable.

Use the booking contact channel for urgent pickup changes. A privacy request does not automatically cancel or amend a reservation.

Updates to this notice

We may update this notice when website features, providers or information-handling practices change. The date above identifies this version. Contact Taxi Puerto Plata if you need an explanation of how the notice applies to your journey.
